Members of the public are reminded that, by section 73 of the Bills of Exchange Ordinance, 1885, a cheque is defined as"a bill of exchange drawn on a banker payable on demand" and the terms of this Order therefore apply to cheques as they do to other bills of exchange. In the same way the Order applies to 1.0.U's, which are implied promises to repay.
